FORMING APPARATUS FOR HEAT SINK BY FOAMING

A heat sink forming apparatus is provided to manufacture a heat sink with high radiation efficiency and increase the radiation area of the radiation fins even without increasing the size of the radiation fins by forming a plurality of open pores in surfaces of radiation fins. A heat sink forming apparatus comprises: a frame(10); a first mold(20) having a heater(22) and a cooling water path(24) for heating and cooling molten metal injected into a molten metal storage space; a stirring unit(80) stirring injected molten metal containing a thickening agent and a foaming agent; a second mold(80) united with the first mold to mold the stirred molten metal into a heat sink having a base part, and radiation fins which are formed on a top face of the base part, and of which surface areas are expanded by open pores; and a lifting unit installed on the frame to lift or lower the second mold. The radiation fins are formed on the top face of the base part in a state that the surface areas of the radiation fins are expanded by the open pores.
