An imidazolium-based amphoteric ion is provided to ensure high electrochemical stability and to improve rechargeable performance of a lithium secondary battery. An imidazolium-based amphoteric ion has a structure indicated as the chemical formula 1. In the chemical formula 1, m is an integer of 1 or 2; n is an integer of 3 or 4; R1 is a C1-C6 alkyl group, C1-C6 arkenyl group or C1-C6 alkylester group; and R2 is a C1-C6 alkyl group or C1-C6 alkenyl group.
