A filter element is provided to have enough intensity supporting filter paper in case of making a core with weak material including the paper by forming a concave part in the element core. A filter element comprises a filtration part(10), a top cap(12) and a bottom cap(13). A core(20) is inserted into inner side. The top cap and the bottom cap are fixed to the top part and the lower part of the filtration part. The core comprises a peripheral wall portion(22) and a hollow(21). A plurality of penetration holes are formed at the peripheral wall portion. The hollow is formed in inner side of the peripheral wall portion.
