A method for preparing the seaweed powder, the seaweed powder prepared by the method, and a cookie composition containing the seaweed powder are provided to remove the offensive odor of seaweed with a low cost. A method for preparing the seaweed powder comprises the steps of preparing the seaweed powder by pulverizing it into a size of 10-150 mesh; and heat treating the prepared seaweed powder. Preferably the heat treatment is carried out at 100-200 deg.C for 1-20 min with stirring it with 50-550 rpm.
