PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source, a laser light source device, and an image display apparatus which prevent short circuits and also prevent the generation of stray light. SOLUTION: The laser light source device includes a light-emitting element 11 having a light-emitting unit that emits laser light, a support member 12 supporting the light-emitting element 11, a current supply unit 20 which supplies a current to the light-emitting element 11, a wire 25 which electrically connects the light-emitting element 11 to the current supply unit 20, and an insulating member 30 which is disposed between the wire 25 and the support member 12 and at least whose surface has an insulating property.
