PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save a user the trouble of battery replacement for a sensor for sensing security failures in a dwelling unit, the sensor usually using batteries as its power source. SOLUTION: The operating power supplies of sensors 2a, 2b, 2c for detecting security failures in a dwelling unit are secured by power supplies from the master-device power supply part 306 of a living-room master device 3, such as DC power supplies resulting from the conversion of solar light energy into electric power. The CPU 308 of the living-room master device detects the occurrence of a security failure or the device failure of any of the sensors according to sensor-consumed currents detected by a current detecting part 307. A warning about the failure is provided using a monitor 300 and/or a master-device speaker 303 that constitute a reporting part. Based on the sensor-consumed currents detected by the current detecting part, the CPU of the living-room master device also detects the number of sensors connected to the living-room master device, and its confirmation is reported using the monitor and/or the master-device speaker which constitutes the reporting part.
