PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer polyol which can be used for producing a polyurethane excellent in mechanical properties with reduced viscosity and reduced amount of coarse particles, with a reduced amount of remaining monomers after polymerization. SOLUTION: The invention relates to a method for producing a polymer polyol (A) which contains polymer particles (JR), comprising the process of polymerizing an ethylenic unsaturated monomer (E) in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator (K) in a polyol (PL). The radical polymerization initiator (K) comprises an azo compound satisfying the following relational expression (1) and a peroxide compound satisfying the following relational expression (2) and having 0-30% of the hydrogen drawing out potential, wherein the relational expression (1): (Tp-100)≤Th≤(Tp-55), and the relational expression (2): (Tp-50)≤Th≤(Tp+20), Tp is a polymerization temperature (°C), and Th is a temperature (°C) for 10 hr of the half-life of the radical polymerization initiator.
