A lubricating oil supply device for an automatic transmission, by the adoption of which the automatic transmission is easily downsized and which supplies lubricating oil to a clutch without a lubricating oil supply hole. The lubricating oil supply device supplies lubricating oil to the clutch (30) placed inside the transmission. A carrier cover (41) has formed on it a circumferential oil receiving groove (40) that receives the lubricating oil and is open in the axial direction of an input shaft (1). The oil receiving groove (40) is formed by the following elements: a wall section (41a) of a substantially annular carrier cover (41), to the wall section (41a) being attached a pinion shaft (4) together with a carrier (3); a base section (41b) of the carrier cover (41), the base section (41b) extending in the axial direction of the pinion shaft (4), and an end section (33a) located inward of a part of a clutch hub (33), the end section (33a) being connected to the base section (41b) of the carrier cover (41).
