Blanket located on the outer surface of a roller, e.g. a printing unit roller, consists of an elastic and or compressible layer with a surface pressure that is defined by the degree of an impression. The layer is designed so that the dependency of the surface pressure on the impression force has a gradient of less than 700 Ncm -> 2> mm -> 1>. The invention also relates to a corresponding roller arrangement and printer mechanism.
