PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for honing sticks having a long lifetime manufacturable easily and inexpensively irrespective of the sort of honing stick, free of breakage or tearing-off of the stick, and capable of allowing the stick to exert its performance sufficiently. SOLUTION: In manufacturing a honing stick 1, a work 16 for wheel spindle stock furnished previously with a groove 16a for honing stick is used as part of a molding die 10, and the groove 16a is filled with powder 5A as a material for honing stick, followed by a baking process, and upon molding a work 11 for honing stick in a single piece, the contour of the work 11 is finished into the prescribed shape.
