PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell cycle inhibitor containing a physiologically active substance produced by microorganisms as an active component and a method for producing the inhibitor. SOLUTION: The invention provides a cell cycle inhibitor containing 4',7,8-trihydroxyisoflavone expressed by formula (I) and produced by BAUA-2322 strain belonging to the genus Penicillium as an active component, and a method for producing the inhibitor using the strain.
