The present invention relates to a package comprising a first and second portion (11, 14; 17). The first and second portion (11, 14; 17) have conductive surface portions (11, 15) being adhesively bonded together by an electrically weakable adhesive (16) and being adapted to be separated from each other by application of electrical power thereby forming an opening providing access to a compartment (2) of the package. The package further comprises an electrical circuitry (3) adapted to apply electrical power to the conductive surface portions (11, 15) via the electrically weakable adhesive (16), and a sensor (5) adapted to monitor when electrical power is applied to the electrically weakable adhesive (16).
