<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibody not only able to bound onto cell surface receptors both in vivo and in vitro without requiring crosslinking or immobilization, but strongly able to induce apoptosis of various types of abnormal cells (including tumor cells), and specifically selective to a TRAIL receptor DR5, also provide a pharmaceutical composition and an antitumor agent containing the antibody as an active ingredient. <P>SOLUTION: A purified antibody is provided. The antibody specifically binds the TRAIL receptor DR5, wherein the antibody has in vivo and in vitro cell death-inducing activity in its soluble form at low concentration in target cells expressing DR5, and wherein the antibody does not bind a TRAIL receptor DR4, DcR1 or DcR2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
