<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording method which enables sending confidential information to a third party in an invisible condition and is optimal for processing the confidential information in volume, and to provide a recording sheet. <P>SOLUTION: Microcapsules containing dye precursors including substituent groups removable by heat or exposure to light are formed on a first support body, and then the microcapsules are pressurized to release the dye precursors therefrom so that a latent image is formed on the first support body (1), or the microcapsules are pressurized to release the dye precursors therefrom and transfer them to a second support body disposed facing the microcapsule containing layer so that a latent image is formed on the second support body (2), using 3,6-di(tert-butocarboxy)fluoran and the like as the dye precursors.
