<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt attaching jig capable of attaching a belt easily to pulley while the jig is mounted on a pulley on the minor diameter side or low load side. <P>SOLUTION: The belt attaching jig 1 is furnished with a holding surface 7 to hold part of the belt 4 on the outer side in radial direction than a pulley flange 6, and with a guide surface 8 to guide the belt 4 to the holding surface 7. The guide surface 8 is formed in a curved surface continued to the holding surface 7 and swollen to ahead in the rotating direction. The belt attaching jig 1 is mounted on the pulley 2 on the minor diameter side or low load side. The belt 4 is set on the jig 1 and the pulleys 2 and 3, and the latter 3 on the major diameter side or high load side is rotated. The pulley 2 rotates with the tension of the belt 4 guided by the guide surface 8 in the rotating direction.
