PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of a throttle flow rate parameterμ*A by a simple processing, which is used for calculating a cylinder-charged air quantity by using an intake system model. SOLUTION: When a prescribed learning execution condition is satisfied, the cylinder-charged air quantity calculating apparatus calculates an actual value of the throttle flow rate parameterμ*A according to a present throttle opening degreeθby using an equation derived from the equation for calculating a throttled air quantity of the intake system model (in S103) and, based on the deviation between the actual value and a map value (adaptation value), learns a learning correction amount corresponding to the map value. At this time, the apparatus divides a region ranging from the fully closed to fully opened state of the throttle opening degreeθinto a plurality of learning regions and learns the learning correction amount for each learning region. During an engine operating state, the apparatus then corrects the map value of the throttle flow rate parameterμ*A according to the present throttle opening degreeθby using the learning correction amount and calculates the cylinder-charged air quantity or a throttle upstream pressure by using the corrected map value.
