The wheel barrier assembly (40) has plate (42) which is constructed and arranged to extend between the wheel hub and the wheel assembly (10) to insulate the wheel from the wheel hub. The collets (48) are constructed and arranged to extend through the hub receiving center (20) of the wheel assembly and is secured to plate so as to insulate the wheel from the lugs. An independent claim is also included for a wheel assembly.
