PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a linear aliphatic diamine useful as a monomer raw material for a polyamide resin and a polyurethane resin, and an intermediate for a raw material for a medicine or an agrochemical. SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a linear aliphatic diamine represented by general formula (2) (wherein, n is an integer of 9-12) which comprises a step of producing a diaminoalkadiene by aminating a dihalogenoalkadiene represented by general formula (1) (wherein, Xs are each independently a chlorine atom, a bromine atom or an iodine atom; and n is an integer of 3-6), and a step of hydrogenating the diaminoalkadiene.
