PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator of a rotating electric machine having improved insulating performance. SOLUTION: The stator of the rotating electric machine, which is disposed at a position opposite to a rotor forming a plurality of magnetic poles alternately different in a circumferential direction, is provided with a stator core having a plurality of slots in the circumferential direction, and a stator wiring formed of a wire material having a substantially rectangular cross section and wound around the slots. The wire material has slot housing portions 40 housed in the slots different in the circumferential direction, and a turn portion for connecting the slot housing portions outside the slots, the protruding portion of the turn portion 42 protruding from the slot is formed into a step toward the two slots housing the wire material and has a concave portion 41 inside a step-like bent portion.
