摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent deterioration of a battery caused by temperature difference by efficiently and uniformly cooling each battery to reduce the temperature difference between the batteries, and enhance safety by surely preventing induction of thermal runaway of the battery. <P>SOLUTION: A power source device for a vehicle is equipped with a battery pack 1 supplying electric power to a motor for running the vehicle; and a cooling mechanism 2 cooling the battery pack 1. The battery pack 1 is equipped with two or more square batteries 3 stacked so as to have prescribed gaps between them; and an insulating and cooling spacer 4 interposed between facing surfaces 3A of adjacent square batteries 3 and insulating cooling the square batteries 3 coming in contact with the adjacent square batteries. The insulating cooling spacer 4 has a cooling liquid passage 10 having water-tight structure, the cooling liquid passage 10 is connected to the cooling mechanism 2, the insulating cooling spacer 4 is cooled with cooling liquid supplied from the cooling mechanism 2, and the insulating cooling spacer 4 insulates the square batteries 3 and cools the facing surfaces 3A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p>
