<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication resource state management method, and the like, with which a user can clearly grasp the class of medium available for one or more terminals possessed by the user himself. <P>SOLUTION: A terminal is connected with a presence management server and a session management server via a network. The terminal receives from the presence management server presence information containing a terminal ID and medium capability information, corresponding to a user ID of the user who possesses the relevant terminal. Then the terminal, next receives from the session management server session information containing the user ID of the user who possesses the relevant terminal, namely, a combination of session ID, terminal ID, medium utilization information and a partner user identifier.
