PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of simplifying an optical system, achieving the cost reduction, also, capable of obtaining a good restored image of proper image quality with less noise influence, and also, which can be easily manufactured, not requiring attachment accuracy, which can suppress the influence of reflection, and also, free from a contrast difference in an image according to directions. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes the optical system 210 and an imaging element 220 both form a primary image, and an image processor 240 to form a high-definition final image of the primary image. In the optical system 210, an optical wavefront modulation element has a rotational symmetric shape related to the optical axis, the modulation surface of the optical wavefront modulation element is formed to a shape having at least one inflection point from the center to the periphery thereof.
