PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for analyzing a transfer process for obtaining behavior calculation of toner considering the resistance, the dielectric constant, the thickness and the processing speed or the like of a transfer member, material to be transferred and a counter member in a short time. SOLUTION: The method for analyzing the transfer process includes: a potential distribution analysis stage for analyzing the potential distribution of a first calculation area including at least the transfer member, the material to be transferred and the counter member arranged to be opposed to the transfer member through the material to be transferred; and a toner motion analysis stage for calculating motion of the toner in a second calculation area in three-dimensional space including at least the transfer member, the material to be transferred, the counter member arranged to be opposed to the transfer member through the material to be transferred, and the toner. The toner motion analysis stage in which information obtained in the potential distribution analysis stage is reflected is performed. The motion of the toner is not calculated in the entire area of a transfer nip but it is calculated by segmenting a part of the area, thereby lightening calculational load.
