PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader for executing reading processing that responds to an opened/closed state of a cover while taking user's convenience into consideration. SOLUTION: An image processor A with the image reader B includes an image reading part 2, image forming part 3, storing part 4, operation panel 6 and control part 7 in a cabinet 1. The image reading part 2 reads an original placed on an original platen 12. The image reading part 12 includes a cover opening/closing detecting part 14 for detecting an opened/closed state of an original cover 13. The storing part 4 includes a second management table 63 for performing storage by associating a special operation and special processing. The control part 7 confirms the opened/closed state of the original cover 13 when there is the special operation from the operation panel 6.
