摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the difference of drive life of organic electroluminescent elements and the difference of deterioration speed of the organic electroluminescent elements between in a center part and a peripheral part without reducing an effective luminescent area. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescent device 1 provided with a substrate 10, and organic electroluminescent elements 20 formed on the substrate 10 is provided. The element 20 includes a substrate-side electrode 30, a counter electrode 40 facing the substrate-side electrode 30, and a luminescent functional layer 50 arranged between them. On a surface of the substrate-side electrode 30 on the luminescent functional layer 50 side, a step is formed so that the distance from the substrate 10 of its center is set smaller than that of its peripheral part, and the thickness of the luminescent functional layer 50 at the center part of the element 20 is larger than that at the peripheral part thereof.
