PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multistage centrifugal pump capable of having high operation efficiency and long life by securing normal rotational drive of a plurality of impellers. SOLUTION: This multistage centrifugal pump is provided with: a fixed shaft 4 supporting the plurality of impellers 3 housed in a pump chamber 2 in a state axially continued to each other; a drive part 5 rotationally driving the plurality of impellers 3 around the axis of the fixed shaft 4; a suction port 6 for entering a working fluid into the pump chamber 2 by centrifugal force in rotating the impellers 3; and a discharge port 7 for discharging the working fluid therethrough to the outside of the pump chamber 2 by the centrifugal force in rotating the impellers 3. One impeller 3 out of the plurality of impellers 3 constitutes a drive impeller 3a rotationally driven by the drive part 5, and another impeller 3 constitutes a driven impeller 3b rotating by being connected to the drive impeller 3a to rotate along with it. The shaft diameter of a part 4a of the fixed shaft 4a penetrating the drive impeller 3a is formed larger than that of a part 4b of the fixed shaft 4 penetrating the driven impellers 3b.
