PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool capable of preventing damage due to a temperature difference in cutting an article in the neighborhood of a corner part. SOLUTION: A throw-away tip 1 which is a favorable and suitable example of the cutting tool is constituted by providing a land 8 on an outer peripheral part which is of a polygonal plate type, two main surfaces of which respectively continue to a rake face 2 and a seating surface 3, a side surface of which continues to a flank 4 and a crossing crest of the rake face 2 and the flank 4 of which continues to a circular arc shape corner cutting blade 7 a corner part 6 of the rake face 2 of a cutting blade 5 of which is a radius of curvature R and the cutting blade 5 of the rake face 2, sequentially providing a breaker groove 10 and a breaker wall 11 on the central side continued at least to the land 8 of the corner part 6 of the rake face 2, providing a projection row 15 in which a plurality of projections 14 are arranged on a wall surface on the side of the land 8 of the breaker groove 10 continued to the land 8 in the neighborhood of the corner cutting blade 7 and arranging the second projection 14b adjacent to the first projection 14a arranged at a position nearest to the corner cutting blade 7 out of a plurality of the projections 14 in a distance L1less than twice of length of the radius of curvature R from a top point of the corner part 6.
