PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal capable of preventing a sound from being missed when outputting the sound via an earphone. SOLUTION: The portable terminal includes an earphone connecting means for connecting an earphone and is characterized in that it is detected whether the earphone is connected to the earphone connecting means or not and whether the earphone is mounted in the ear of a user or not and processing of sound information or output of processed sound information is controlled in accordance with a result of the detection.
