<p>A light-emitting layer of an organic EL device is composed of a host containing chrysene and a dopant containing benzidine. By having such a constitution, the energy gap of the dopant is increased and the affinity level of the dopant becomes lower than the affinity level of the host. Consequently, the organic EL device is able to have a shorter wavelength for blue light emission and a longer life.</p>
