APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING CYLINDER LINER

An apparatus and a method for manufacturing an aluminum cylinder liner are provided to prevent an oxidation coating phenomenon and a bubble inflow phenomenon by molding the cylinder liner by the gravity tilt pour casting process. An apparatus for manufacturing an aluminum cylinder liner comprises first and second molds(10,12) which are opened to both sides, and a third mold(14) inserted between the first and second molds to form a predetermined space part. The space part is a molding chamber(18) including an article part(18b) corresponding to the shape of a cylinder liner and a hot top part(18a) formed to a diameter larger than that of the article part. The molds have molten metal(A) poured into the article part and hot top part at one sides thereof. The apparatus further comprises a hopper(16) tilted to an angle of 0 to 90 degrees to pour molten metal into the molding chamber, and a cooling part(20) installed in the third mold and formed in a spiral shape to solidify the molten metal filled in the molding chamber.
