<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to know at a glance a utilized state inside a home network. <P>SOLUTION: A home network agent 101 uses internal bus bands and/or storage capacities of a double tuner TV 106 and file servers 104 and 105 and throughputs of 1 or above of a LAN 102 as resources, and handles at least either of programmed recording of AV content from the double-tuner TV 106 to the file servers 104 and 105 and/or transfer of AV content between the file servers 104 and 105 as its job. The job is a set of tasks which use the resources, and an approximate solution is found out wherein each task is so arranged as to satisfy constrained conditions given to each task.
