<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a solid electrolyte fuel cell capable of making compatible both the securing of support strength and gas diffusion performance, and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel electrode 25 has a peripheral portion 51 of a square frame shape formed along the outer periphery of the fuel electrode 25 and a thin portion 55 which has a recessed portion 53 of a square shape surrounded by the peripheral portion 51. That is, the thin portion 55 is made thinner than the peripheral portion 51 and includes a region where the fuel electrode 25 and the air electrode 29 are overlapped in a thickness direction. Further, an area on the lower side of the thin portion 55, that is, an area on the bottom face of the recessed portion 53 is 5-80% of a total area (total projection area) in thickness direction of the fuel electrode 25.
