PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device compatible with diversified models of an image forming apparatus and effectively preventing improper alteration with simple constitution. SOLUTION: The developing device is equipped with a mounting part formed on the surface of a wall part of a developer reservoir and a discrimination member mounted and fixed to the mounting part so as to project from the surface of the wall part by welding its base part.
