PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expandable implant used as an intervertebral prosthesis. SOLUTION: This expandable intra-bone spacer includes: an axial tube having a surface, a proximal end and a distal end and a length, and a handle on which the tube is placed, wherein the surface defines a plurality of slits. The plurality of slits define at least two axially displaced extensions, such that when the tube is axially compressed, the extensions extend outward out of the surface and define a geometry of an expanded spacer.
