PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an arm-shaped nurse call handset from falling by making healthcare workers understand that an end of an arm of the arm-shaped nurse call handset is almost detached from a socket. SOLUTION: When an attachment part 121 provided on one end of the arm 12 is inserted from an insertion part 201 provided in the upper part of the socket 20, a distance from a position of a supporting part 202 for supporting the end of the insertion part 201 to a position of the end of the attachment part 121 is detected. When the detected distance is greater than a value set in advance, a nurse call system determines that the end of the arm 12 is almost detached from the socket 20, and a nurse call base unit 30 informs of almost detached state. Consequently, when the end of the arm-shaped nurse call handset 10 is almost detached from the socket 20, the nurse call system makes the healthcare workers understand the almost detached state since the nurse call base unit 30 informs the healthcare workers of the state.
