<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte for a fuel cell excellent in proton conductivity and easy to handle, useful as an electrolyte which is a composing material of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell or a direct methanol fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The electrolyte for the fuel cell is composed of a copolymer of a compound containing hydrocarbon in a main chain and a fluoroalkyl sulfonic group in a side chain, as a repeating unit exhibiting proton conductivity and a compound having a repeating unit exhibiting no proton conductivity. A ratio (mol%) of the repeating unit is that the repeating unit exhibiting no proton conductivity is 0-20 to 1 of the repeating unit exhibiting the proton conductivity, and weight-average molecular weight is 10,000-200,000. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
