PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite structure capable of utilizing a three-dimensional network constituted on the inside of a fibrous structure by not performing complex operations for the disaggregation of bacterial cellulose fibers from a gel state material formed by culturing cellulose-producing bacteria so as not to destroy the three-dimensional network constituted by the bacterial cellulose fibers, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: By directly culturing the cellulose-producing bacteria on the inside of the fibrous structure, the three-dimensional network of the produced bacterial cellulose fibers is directly utilized as the composite structural material. The composite structure includes the fibrous structure and the bacterial cellulose membrane presenting on its inside, and having a honeycomb like structure by using the bacterial cellulose membrane as a wall surface in at least one cross section of the fibrous structure.
