SOLUTION: The mercury atomic fluorescence spectrometer includes a mercury lamp 10 for irradiating a sample S with ultraviolet radiation 11, the detector 40 for detecting fluorescence 12 of mercury generated from the sample S, and a flow cell 20 that is formed of a wall 23 having an incoming window 21 into which the ultraviolet radiation 11 comes from the mercury lamp 10, a wall 24 having an outgoing window 22 for making the fluorescence 12 of mercury generated from the sample S go to the detector 40, and a wall 25 facing the incoming window 21 and a wall 26 facing the outgoing window 22, has an introducing port 35 for introducing the gaseous sample S into the cell, and a delivering port 36 for delivering the gaseous sample S. In the flow cell 20, the wall 25 facing the incoming window 21 and the wall 26 facing the outgoing window 22 are covered with an ultraviolet radiation absorption material 27 for absorbing the ultraviolet radiation.
