PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve gear facilitating replacement work of shims for adjusting a tappet clearance while keeping friction resistance of a rocker arm low. SOLUTION: The valve gear 30 is provided with: valves 16, 18 including valve stems 16a, 18a; a camshaft 31 including cams 38, 39 opening and closing a valve; rocker shafts 41, 55 arranged in parallel with the camshaft; and rocker arms 32, 33 supported by the rocker shaft. The rocker arm includes a roller 61 and pressing parts 49, 62 facing ends of the valve stems. Shims 50, 63 for adjusting the tappet clearance are put between the pressing part of the rocker arm and a tip of the valve stem. The rocker arm slides in an axial direction of the rocker shaft between a first position where the pressing part touches the shim, and a second position where the pressing part separates from the shim, and is retained in the first position by a spring.
