PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide gear for simply and surely cleaning wheels even in the case of a small-sized model car, and a cleaning method. SOLUTION: The gear for cleaning the wheels of a model railway car self-propelled through electric-power supply from guide railway rails is disclosed. A pair of right and left cleaning rails on which the model railway car is placed just like the railway rails serving as tracks for the model railway car are provided. A cleaning body for removing an insulating material or the like sticking to the wheels is provided on the surface of the cleaning rails, which come in contact with the wheels. The cleaning rails are so structured that they can be independently and longitudinally reciprocated. Thereby reciprocation of the cleaning rails allows the whole peripheries to be cleaned while the wheels are rotated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
