PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling unit which cools electronic equipment, such as an ONU, and offers cooling air with a velocity distribution approximately uniform across a wide range. SOLUTION: The cooling unit includes an axial-flow fan 12 which generates cooling wind, an enclosure 12a having the axial-flow fan 12 fitted therein and a blowout opening for sending out cooling air, a regulating plate 18 which is fitted to a side of the enclosure 12a to narrow a path for cooling air, and a duct 14 which forms the path for cooling air and is fitted with an ONU 22 on the downstream side. The duct 14 has a width that is narrowed along the regulating plate 18, and is fitted with a forming plate 20 for forming the path for cooling air to its side perpendicular to the side of the enclosure 12a where the regulating plate 18 is fitted. One side of the regulating plate 18 is so fitted to a face of the forming plate 20 opposite to one side that no gap is formed between one side and the face. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
