<p>The invention relates to a system (100) for extracting measurements from a plurality of medical reports, the system comprising a read module (110) for reading the plurality of medical reports, an extraction module (120) for extracting measurements from the plurality of medical reports based on a measurement unit, and a display module (130) for displaying the extracted measurements. The read module is arranged to read the reports and make the data in the reports available to the extraction module. The extraction module is arranged to analyze the contents of the reports and extract measurements, which have the specified measurement unit. The measurement unit may be specified by the user, for example. The display module is arranged to display the extracted measurements, e.g., a table comprising the extracted measurements. The user can now view the extracted measurements and draw a conclusion based on these measurements. Using a measurement unit for identifying measurements has the further advantage that, while the names of measurements, report structure, and protocols for acquiring measurements may change, the measurement units typically do not change. Thus, using the measurement unit provides a useful way of identifying potentially relevant information comprised in a plurality of medical reports, independent of many changes in the measuring and reporting protocols.</p> |
