A plurality of fluid passages 13 in a casing 12, axially disposed in a common plane, are valued in turn by a mushroom element 1 provided with a resilient seat 2 and retained within a bush 4 in sleeve 7 rotatable with a control shaft 8. The valve 1 is urged into seating contact against springs 10 by wedge 9 upon shaft 8 and retracted for rotation as the wedge 9 is carried upon control shaft 8, axially displaced by lever 17, against the action of spring 19. A plurality of valves 12 may be operated in tandem upon a common control shaft or circumferentially disposed around an actuating shaft 30 and each having control shafts 37, 38, 39 and 40, in a common plane, and axially displaceable to retract the valves, via bell-crank levers 41, as shaft 30 is depressed by the action of wheel 31 of lever 28 upon fixed member 32. The valves are rotated to a fresh seat upon the shafts 37, 38, 39 and 40, rotated by bevel gear train 48, 47, upon disengagement of roller 34 of lever 28 and rotation between corresponding gate stops 35.</p> |
