PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus in which the weight of an operation section does not get heavy even though a monitor is arranged in the operation section. SOLUTION: The endoscope apparatus 1 has an inserting section 11, an operation section 12, and a main apparatus 13 connected to the operation section 12 with a cable 17. The endoscope apparatus 1 has a sub display section 15 capable of being attached to and detached from the operation section 12, a camera control unit 31 arranged in the main apparatus 13 and converting imaging signals to image signals, a parallel serial converting section 46 arranged in the output side of the camera control unit 31 and transmitting the image signals converted in the camera control unit 31 in the type of serial signals, a serial parallel converting section 60 arranged on the input side of the sub display section 15, converting the image signals of serial signal type to an image signal of parallel signal type to be supplied to the sub display section 15, and a cable 58 connecting the main apparatus 13 and the sub display section 15.
