PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide branched braided stent devices or branched braided artificial blood vessel devices and methods for fabrication of the devices enabling uniform coverage without a gap. SOLUTION: A trunk portion and two hinged leg portions are fabricated in one piece braided from a single plurality of filaments, whereby the legs contain the full plurality of filaments and the trunk portion contains a subset of the same plurality of filaments. The fabrication process involves braiding the hinged legs on a mandrel while retaining loops of filament between the hinged leg portions for subsequent braiding of the trunk portion of the stent or graft.
