PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical switch of which the structure can be made compact. SOLUTION: A switching groove 1c is formed by cleaving at an intersection of a first optical waveguide 1a and a second optical waveguide 1b in a polymer waveguide film 1. A hard member 3 holds a non-deform state of the polymer waveguide film 1 in the side of a first groove wall 1d with respect to the switching groove 1c. When the first groove wall 1d and a second groove wall 1e are spaced apart from each other, a rotary pin 2 is rotated toward an opening side of the switching groove 1c to join the first groove wall 1d and the second groove wall 1e to each other. When the first groove wall 1d and the second groove wall 1e are in a joined state, the rotary pin 2 is rotated toward the opposite side to the switching groove 1c, the first groove wall 1d is separated from the second groove wall 1e.
