PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for designing a function block materializing a high speed serial bus having the most appropriate number of lanes and appropriate buffer structure and to provide a method for designing an LSI system having such function blocks. SOLUTION: The method for designing the LSI system is provided in which an LSI design support device changes the number of stages of transmission/reception buffers and the buffer capacity, measures a link communication rate between the LSI design support device and a connected system by monitoring the number of transmission packets or reception packets to be transmitted to the connected system, for each kind of the packets and by monitoring response time of the connected system to the packets, and determines the number of stages of the transmission/reception buffers and the capacity of the transmission/reception buffers most appropriate for the function block.
