PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass molding production method for mass-producing high quality glass moldings stably from molten glass, a method for producing glass articles such as various kinds of optical elements or optical element blanks for making the various kinds of optical elements from glass moldings obtained by the method, and an apparatus for molding glass which is used in these methods. SOLUTION: A casting mold 10 provided with a through-hole 20 penetrating from a flow-in port 21 located in a relatively high position to a take-out port 25 via a molding part 24, wherein the vicinity of the flow-in port 21 is narrowed down to form a soaking and quenching part 22, and the diameter is enlarged from the soaking and quenching part 22 toward the molding part 24, is used. Molten glass G is flowed into the flow-in port 21 opening at the upper face of the casting mold 10 from a molten glass flow-out pipe 30, and then the molten glass G is quenched and soaked in such a state that the fluidity of the molten glass G is kept while the molten glass G is passed through the soaking and quenching part 22. Thereafter, the molten glass G is led to the molding part 24, wherein the molten glass G is molded into a predetermined shape, and the molded glass is continuously taken out from the take-out port 25.
