PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting apparatus for a propeller shaft which prevents the generation of rust from occurring on the outer peripheral surface or the like of the shaft section, and can prevent muddy water or the like from entering the inside of a bearing by preventing the reduction of the sealability of a sealing member which slides on the outer peripheral surface or the like of the shaft section from occurring. SOLUTION: In this propeller shaft for which a following side yoke 13 is installed on the distal end side of a stub-axle 9, a radial ball bearing 22 is installed in the internal diametrical section 11 of the stub-axle 9, and annular seal members 21 and 20 are installed in the internal diametrical shaft section 11b of the sub-axle 9 and the smaller diametrical end section 14a of the following side yoke 13. The cylindrical sections 34a and 33a of cylindrical rust preventing members 34 and 33 being formed of a stainless steel material are installed between the annular seal members 21 and 20, and the internal diametrical shaft section 11b and the small diametrical end section 14a. At the same time, bending sections 34b and 33b are arranged between the other side surface 23d of the inner lace 23 of the radial ball bearing 22 and the side end surface 14e of the small diametrical end section 14a under a pinched state.
