PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothespin, easily opened and closed while being compact, and ensuring clamping so that a fall of clamped washing can be effectively prevented by miniaturizing an opening and closing operation part as much as possible to increase the percentage of the clamping part occupying in the whole clothespin. SOLUTION: In this clothespin, the base parts of a passive clamping body 20 and a working clamping body 30 clothespin are respectively journaled to an operation connecting body 40, and the passive clamping body 20 and the working clamping body 30 are pressed to each other and separated from each other by the rotary operation of the operation connecting body 40, thereby clamping the washing between the respective clamping bodies. The base end of the passive clamping body 20 is journaled and connected to the lower part of the operation connecting body 40, and the working clamping body 30 is journaled and connected to the front of the operation connecting body 40, which is located in front of the journal part of the base end of the passive clamping body 20, so that the respective clamping pressure surfaces of the passive clamping body 20 and the working clamping body 30 are brought into substantially whole surface contact with each other by the rotary operation of the operation connecting body 40.
